Estancia Collun-Co

Located near Junín de los Andes in the province of Neuquén, it was acquired in 1909 by Robert Hohmann, a German immigrant. Hohmann had the vision of replicating European hunting traditions in Argentina and saw Patagonia as an ideal place for it. In 1922, Hohmann decided to introduce the red deer (Cervus elaphus) to the region. He acquired four males and sixteen pregnant females from the Pedro Luro reserve in La Pampa. Moving the animals was a considerable logistical challenge:

The deer were initially transported by train to Zapala, Neuquén, from where they were taken by cart through mountainous terrain to the ranch. Once in Collun-Co, the deer quickly adapted to the Patagonian environment, thanks to the favorable climatic and geographical conditions. The population began to grow and expand into surrounding areas, including what is now Lanín National Park.

Lynck Safaris has 20 thousand remote hectares, located in the south of the Province of Neuquén, in Argentine Patagonia. Chacabuco, with its mountainous environment of wide grasslands and Patagonian Andean forests crossed by rivers and streams, offers the ideal setting for the life and proper development of the red deer.

Our base camps, strategically located in the mountain range and away from traffic, are accessible only on foot or horseback. Equipped with essential comforts, they guarantee a comfortable and pleasant stay without disturbing the prevailing tranquility, where the stove becomes the epicenter of attention. The daily trips, on horseback from dawn in search of the places chosen for brama, generally culminate at dusk with a restorative dinner.

HOW TO GET THERE

From the city of Buenos Aires, you take a domestic flight at Jorge Newbery (AER) to the airports of San Carlos de Bariloche (BRC) or San Martín de los Andes (CPC). At these points, the Lynck Safaris staff waits to transfer the hunters to the exclusive lodge, with an estimated time of 2 hours and half an hour respectively. Once there, a welcome dinner is served, allowing visitors to rest and prepare for days of hunting.

SERVICES

We have an exclusive lodge operated by the same owners, to accommodate hunters throughout their stay, offering exquisite regional food with typical dishes. During this day you will have the opportunity to check weapons and ammunition if you do not bring your own. The hunters will be accompanied by professional big game guides, who will pick them up with 4x4 trucks, before dawn, to occupy the best hunting spots. Once the morning tour is over, you return to the comfortable facilities for lunch and a peaceful rest until the afternoon hours, when the adventure begins again. With a maximum capacity of 6 hunters, the Lodge has comfortable rooms and personalized attention. We have WIFI throughout the property. Once the hunting activity is finished, preparation begins for the return home, transported by company personnel.
